During these trips the various functions of the canal will be discussed and attention will be drawn to the importance of the canal for the capital. Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday during the summer round trips (6/07 - 22/08/2010), 45 min or 1h30 Adults 45 min: € 4 - Children 45 min: € 3 Adults 1h30: € 6 - Children 1h30: € 5 Article 27: € 1.25 >> Canal shuttle (& possibility to return by bike) Travellers can go aboard and ashore at several stops and visit places of interest in the area around the canal. Combination of boat and bike is also possible. The canal shuttle connects the various municipalities and districts along the canal in Brussels… proof that tourism and transport go hand in hand! Tuesday and Thursday from and in the direction of Brussels, Laken and Anderlecht. Adults: € 3 + € 1 additional fare/stretch - Children: € 1.50. Bicycle aboard: € 0.50 /stretch. >> Boat trips between Brussels and Antwerp Departure by coach from Brussels, guided visit to the historical city centre of Antwerp. Subsequently, boat trip on the river Scheldt and the Maritime Canal. Finally, arrival in Brussels. We will sail through the locks of Wintam and Zemst and visit Rupelmonde, native city of the renowned mapmaker Mercator. Thursday from 9 am to 6 pm from Brussels Adults: € 29 - Children: € 22 >> Visiting the remarkable boat lifts This trip is a combination of boat and bus and starts from Brussels (by bus). During the boat trip we will discover the Ronquières inclined plane, the old hydraulic boat lifts of the Canal du Centre and the new Strépy-Thieu boat lift. Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 6.30 pm from Brussels Adults: € 29 - Children: € 22 >> Boat trip between Brussels and the 'Scheldeland' (the river Scheldt region) This trip is a combination of boat and bus. During this boat trip we will not only discover the Scheldt and its tides, but also the Brussels-Scheldt Maritime Canal, also known as the Willebroek Canal. We will sail through the locks of Zemst and Wintam and visit Rupelmonde, the native town of the renowned mapmaker Mercator. Saturday from 9 am to 6 am from Brussels Adults: € 25 - Children: € 18 >> Boat trip to Brussels Each week boat trips to Brussels are organised. These include a guided visit to the city centre, a guided bus tour and the return by boat to the place of departure. |
